Dragon Quest I & II
Game Boy Color · 1970
About this game
This is a remake of two first Dragon Quest titles , the second version of both Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest II , preceding the Game Boy Color compilation of Dragon Warrior I & II .
This remake includes updated graphics that retain the original look, sound of higher quality, and some changes in the gameplay and in the game world: certain locations are larger, some menu commands (such as "Stairs") are omitted, and there is a larger variety of items.
About Game Boy Color
The Game Boy Color (1998) added a color screen to the original Game Boy formula while remaining backwards compatible with the entire existing cartridge library. Its colorful, semi-transparent cartridge shells make it a visually distinct platform for shelf collectors, and several late-cycle exclusives — released just before the Game Boy Advance took over — are notably harder to find complete today.
Gamevaro tracks Dragon Quest I & II for Game Boy Color with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Dragon Quest I & II to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This GBC release dates back to 1970.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Dragon Quest I & II has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
