In Galactrix , the gems the player has to match have been changed to hexagon shapes, making diagonal matches possible.
Also, new gems are filled in from whatever side the player last removed a gem, making the gameplay even more complex.
The game's back story is this time set in the future, and the player has a large galaxy map to explore.
In each star system, there are a number of planets, asteroids, leap gates and space stations.
The player has to accept missions which further the background story, but they can also choose to do side quests like mining for raw materials that can be sold for varying prices in each solar system.
During the course of the game, the player can pick up several side characters which bring along with them mini games, like constructing devices for the player's ships or hacking leap gates to access new areas on the map.
The core gameplay revolves around battling other space ships though.
Successful battles will result in more intel (the equivalent of experience points), which in turn helps leveling up the player's hero, increasing their stats.
About Nintendo DS
The dual-screen, touch-enabled Nintendo DS (2004) became the best-selling handheld of all time, helped by its huge and genre-diverse library. Cartridge-based DS games have held up well physically over 20 years, and complete-in-box copies of the system's biggest sellers (Nintendogs, Pokémon, Mario Kart) remain very accessible for new collectors starting out.
Gamevaro tracks Puzzle Quest: Galactrix for Nintendo DS with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Puzzle Quest: Galactrix to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This NDS release dates back to 2009.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
