Progression revolves around rank promotion battles, advancing from Rank Z to Rank A, by completing bonus card side quests and defeating high-ranking trainers.

Multiplayer returns via the Battle Club, supporting up to four players in time-based team battles or Ranked Battles for competitive placement.
