Cooking Fighter
PlayStation · 1998
About this game
The master chef Hao goes in a quest to hunt down and avenge his master by hitting every inn and restaurant he finds and picking a duel with the resident master chefs.
Instead of hitting each other senseless however, the chefs engage in cooking fights, in which the character who prepares the best dishes wins.

The game is played in a top-down scrolling arena, in which you control your character and try to hunt down the animals that serve as the base of your recipes, once defeated you must perform special moves while cooking them, which decides the type of dish you get.
Hitting each animal with the varied vegetables and seasonings found littered across the arena also expands the range of dishes you can create.
At the same time the opposing player is actively trying to hunt down his own animals and can hit you to try to steal your dish (and vice-versa), the one that finishes first winning the match.
The game features colorful anime-styled cutscenes between fights, and includes a single-player story mode and a 2-player Vs mode, in which you can freely select from all the chefs in the game.
About PlayStation
The original PlayStation (1994) brought CD-based gaming and 3D graphics to the mainstream, ending Nintendo's console dominance of the previous two generations. It's now firmly in "retro collecting" territory: original jewel cases with intact manuals command a real premium over disc-only copies, and several RPGs from its later years (when Sony deliberately courted the genre) are among the most expensive commonly-collected games from the era.
Gamevaro tracks Cooking Fighter for PlayStation with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Cooking Fighter to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS1 release dates back to 1998.

Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Cooking Fighter, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
