About this game

Return of Double Dragon features several significant differences from Super Double Dragon: the title theme and most of the background music were shuffled around (e.g. the Mission 1 theme from Super Double Dragon is played during Mission 4 in Return of Double Dragon) and the player can perform certain actions which cannot be done in Super Double Dragon (such as retrieving a boomerang after throwing it or hitting an opponent more than once successively with the hurricane kick).

The enemy placement is also different in both versions and weapons such as knives and incendiary bombs do less damage in Return of Double Dragon.

Enemies can duck end combo blows, thus preventing the player from finishing their combos.

The final Mission also features two additional levels before the final battle.

An Option Mode is included in Return of Double Dragon as well, allowing players to adjust the game's difficulty level, as well as listen to the game's music and sound effects.

About Super Nintendo Entertainment System

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (1990/1991) is widely regarded as home to one of the strongest first-party libraries in gaming history, from Super Metroid to Chrono Trigger. It's a mature collecting market: iconic RPGs and late-cycle releases (which typically had smaller print runs as the industry moved toward the next generation) are consistently among the most sought-after and valuable cartridges from the 16-bit era.

Gamevaro tracks Return of Double Dragon for Super Nintendo Entertainment System with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Return of Double Dragon to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This SNES release dates back to 1992.

💡
Below average — potentially a good time to buy
Current price €23.39 is below the average of €28.34 over the tracked period (range: €21.46€56.78).

Rarity & condition

Return of Double Dragon has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
